RUSSIAN SILVER-GILT AND NIELLO FLASK Antip Kuzmichev, Moscow, 1882-1899 Retailed by Tiffany & Co. Of compressed oval form, nielloed with rich strapwork between foliate borders, the hinged lid engraved with initials JD, seals the flask by twisting the cap (images 7-9), the detachable base forming a beaker Marked Antip Kuzmichev and 84 Russian silver standard, stamped “made for Tiffany & Co.”, Height 5 1/2 in. (14 cm), width 3 in. (7,6 cm) CONDITION: Some scratching and wear to the bottom of the beaker due to age and use, sliding marks to the gilded base of flask due to beaker sliding on and off (image 10), similar sliding marks on the inside of the beaker.
