RUSSIAN PATINATED BRONZE MODEL OF TSAR CANNON Unknown maker, late 19th century Realistically cast as a model of the famous Russian cannon (see note) Hight 4 in. (10,2 cm), length 6 1/8 in. (15,6 cm) CONDITION: Some wear, areas of rubbing to patina. Good overall condition. NOTE: In 1586 Russian Tsar Feodor Ivanovich, son of Ivan the Terrible, commissioned a huge cannon. Weighing almost 40 tons it was intended as a showpiece of Russian military might and engineering. It is decorated with reliefs, including one depicting Tsar Feodor Ivanovich on a horse. The cannon is located within the walls of the Moscow Kremlin. Per the Guinness Book of Records it is the largest bombard by caliber in the world. Item Nr. 966 (Russian bronze model of “Tsar Cannon”)
