    Description This 2004 Yiwu Lao Shu Sheng Pu Erh from Yushisanhe is made from mixed-pick old tree (Lao Shu) material sourced in Yiwu. During this production era, it was common for producers to blend across available garden material — but in this case, the balance clearly leans toward higher-grade leaf. Repackaged in 2009 and aged in Guangdong, this is a properly matured raw pu erh cake with over two decades of natural transformation. This is not a budget factory sheng — it is a serious old tree Yiwu cake showing depth, calmness and classic southern storage character. Storage & Ageing •Harvest: 2004 Yiwu material •Repackaged: 2009 •Storage: Traditional Guangdong ageing •Type: Aged raw (sheng) pu erh The Guangdong storage is clean and controlled, allowing steady oxidation without excessive dampness. The result is clarity, depth and integration rather than murky earthiness. Aroma & Liquor The rinse reveals shifting complexity: Earth → deep sweetness → dry hay → aged tobacco leaf. The liquor pours a rich copper-orange, showing clear maturity while retaining brightness. Taste & Mouthfeel This aged Yiwu sheng is remarkably relaxed and composed. The texture is very soft and lubricating, coating the mouth and encouraging steady salivation. Early infusions show a light mineral edge at the front of the palate, quickly followed by developing sweetness. A pronounced and long-lasting hui gan (returning sweetness) appears from the first infusion and builds steadily throughout the session. When pushed, the tea remains clean: •Subtle Guangdong-aged earthiness •Gentle background spice •Very low bitterness for its age Later steeps deepen in sweetness, with the hui gan shifting slightly herbal. Qi (Energy) The chi builds gradually rather than aggressively. Relaxing, meditative and grounding — a classic “old school” aged Yiwu profile.
